Our criteria for opportunities

We review all opportunities to make sure that they meet our criteria. Here, you can find out more about our criteria for opportunities, and what you can do if Reach is not the right fit for your role.

What is Reach’s criteria for opportunities? 

We only accept opportunities that:

  • require three or more years professional experience in one of our skills areas
  • are unpaid
  • are based in the UK
  • are not overly burdensome on the volunteer, for example, line managing paid staff or requiring more than 15 hours a week

We do also accept opportunities specifically for trustees with lived experience of your cause, either with or without specified professional skills

If your opportunity doesn’t meet our criteria, why not visit GOV.UK's page on volunteering which lists several avenues for finding volunteers and volunteering opportunities across the UK.
