Our objectives

Women’s Consortium is a community-focused therapy, training, coaching and wellbeing organisation, working across London, Birmingham and surrounding areas.

The organisation began over 16 years ago in response to a clear gap in support for women, particularly those facing barriers linked to confidence, isolation, culture, language, family circumstances or access to services. Over time, Women’s Consortium has grown and now supports people from all backgrounds, while continuing to offer women-focused spaces where they are needed and valued.

At the heart of our work is a simple belief: every person has value, strengths and potential. We provide counselling, therapy, wellbeing activities, personal development courses, mediation, workshops and training to help people improve their mental health, build confidence and move towards the life they want to lead.

We also work with charities, public sector partners, community groups and organisations to deliver training and wellbeing programmes that support healthier, more inclusive communities.

Our mission is to make support easier to access without judgment or bias. Whether someone is seeking emotional support, personal growth, confidence, connection or a new direction, Women’s Consortium aims to help people move from where they are to where they want to be.

As our motto says, we are here to strengthen valuable lives.

Our activities

Women’s Consortium supports people through a wide range of therapy, counselling, wellbeing, training and personal development services. Our work has grown from women-focused support into a wider community mental health and wellbeing offer for people of all backgrounds, while still keeping safe, women-centred spaces where they are needed.

In Birmingham and Solihull, we deliver NHS Talking Therapies through The Wellness Centre, supporting people with anxiety, depression, stress, PTSD, OCD, trauma and other mental health difficulties. We also support the new Community Counselling Service, an NHS-commissioned service offering free, short-term counselling for adults experiencing mild to moderate emotional distress, especially where usual counselling routes may feel difficult to access.

Alongside this, Women’s Consortium provides wider counselling and wellbeing support across London, Birmingham, Coventry and online, including funded counselling for women and children, low-cost counselling where available, individual and group counselling, mindfulness, yoga, Pilates, fitness, meditation, self-defence, Tajweed classes, hypnotherapy, NLP, holistic wellbeing support and free legal advice. These activities are designed to support the whole person, not just the presenting issue. For some people, this means having a safe space to talk. For others, it may mean rebuilding confidence, learning coping tools, improving physical wellbeing, reconnecting with community, or finding practical advice during a difficult time.

We also work with organisations, charities, public sector partners and community groups to support staff wellbeing and healthier workplaces. Our team includes counsellors, therapists, CBT practitioners, trainers, coaches and facilitators who can deliver tailored workshops and training on mental health awareness, resilience, trauma-informed practice, grief and bereavement, cultural awareness, EDI, menopause awareness, ADHD awareness, suicide prevention, mindfulness and manager mental health training.

Across all our services, our aim is simple: to help people feel heard, supported and able to move from where they are to where they want to be. Whether someone comes to us for therapy, community counselling, a wellbeing class, legal guidance, workplace training or personal development, the purpose remains the same: strengthening valuable lives
