Norwich Writers Circle
Our objectives
Norwich Writers’ Circle, t/a Norwich Writers, is a Norwich-based writing group founded in 1943 during World War II by a group of amateur and professional writers. It has gone through many changes since that time, including venues and committee members, but throughout it has been a place for writers of all ages, genres and experience levels from beginners to published authors, to meet for workshops, share work for critique, and hear from guest speakers from the publishing industry. Its goals have always been to promote and encourage the art and craft of writing and foster fellowship among writers, providing a supportive friendly community for them to grow their skills, connect with peers, and build connections within the writing community. Writing is a powerful tool for self-expression. It can stimulate the imagination, improve vocabulary and help with confidence and wellbeing.
Our activities
During our monthly meetings we provide an interesting and varied writing based program for members which includes: workshops, speakers evenings and writing competitions, both in person and online.
