Until now, Reach streamed all your roles to LinkedIn without you needing to do anything. Volunteer and trustee roles posted on LinkedIn receive up to three times as many applicants, so these changes are important.
Soon, LinkedIn will change how your roles appear on their site. Your roles must be attached to your organisation’s LinkedIn page, rather than to Reach’s page as they are now. To ensure roles appear on the right LinkedIn page, LinkedIn will require Reach roles to be submitted with your organisation’s LinkedIn Company ID.
This means that soon, any new roles that you post will not be streamed to LinkedIn - unless you add your LinkedIn Company ID to your Reach account.
What date will these changes occur?
These changes were initially scheduled for February 1 2024. There has been a delay to their deployment, but we expect the changes to come into effect any day now. You should still follow the below instructions on setting up your roles to stream to LinkedIn, so once LinkedIn make the changes, your roles will continue to appear on their platform.
What is a LinkedIn Company ID?
You can choose to set up a page to represent your organisation on LinkedIn. When you do this, LinkedIn assigns your page a unique identifier called a Company ID - a number between 6 and 9 characters long. You must have a LinkedIn company page in order to have a LinkedIn Company ID.
Where do I find my LinkedIn Company ID?
Your LinkedIn Company ID is a number that can be found by following a few steps from the LinkedIn jobs feed.
How do I create a LinkedIn page?
If you don’t have a LinkedIn page, creating one doesn’t take long and will ensure your role is seen by up to three times more volunteers. Read LinkedIn’s guidance for non-profits on how to set up a page.
How do I add my LinkedIn Company ID to my account?
- Login to Reach.
- From your dashboard, click ‘Manage account’.
- Under your organisation’s name, click ‘Edit profile’.
- Under ‘Your LinkedIn details’, select 'Yes, please stream my roles to LinkedIn' and add your LinkedIn Company ID in the box.
- Scroll down and click 'Save' to save your details.
What happens if I don’t provide my LinkedIn Company ID?
If we don’t have your organisation’s LinkedIn details, we will not be able to share your roles on their platform.
What if I don’t want my roles to appear on my company’s LinkedIn page?
If there is no LinkedIn Company ID against your organisation’s profile, then soon any roles you post will not be posted to LinkedIn.
If there is a LinkedIn Company ID against your organisation’s profile, you can stop your roles streaming at any time. To do this, log in and visit ‘Manage account’ then ‘Edit profile’. Scroll down on the page and set your LinkedIn option to ‘No, don’t stream my roles to LinkedIn’ - then click ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page.
What will happen to roles that are already appearing on LinkedIn?
Roles that were posted will continue to appear on LinkedIn regardless of whether your organisation has added a LinkedIn Company ID to your Reach account. You will be able to see these roles on Reach’s company page.
It is only roles after the changes that will appear on your company page if you have added your Company ID to your account.
Can you move my existing roles from Reach’s company page to mine?
Unfortunately not. All roles posted after these changes go live will continue to appear on Reach’s company page until their closing date.
