What are guest applications?
If you would like to use Reach to apply for volunteer roles, but would prefer not to create a volunteer profile, you can apply as a guest. Here you can find out more about how it works.
Why apply as a guest?
Some volunteers choose this option as they would like to try the Reach platform out before creating a full volunteer profile and some simply wish to apply for one specific role that interests them.
How does the guest option work?
- With a guest account, you will be able to apply to up to five roles during the course of a month, without having a profile.
- We still ask that you meet our criteria and our team will still review your work history before processing your applications.
- Once the month is up, your account will expire, and you will have the choice to either create a full volunteer profile, or leave it there - we hope that you will want to stay.
- Once your account has expired, you will still have access to your dashboard so that you can continue existing conversations with charities you have applied to.

Using the guest option to apply for a Trustee role using your lived experience
Volunteers who don’t meet our criteria for professional skills but would like to apply for a lived experience role are welcome to apply using a guest account. If you don’t have a CV, you will need to add a covering letter instead, but you don’t need to disclose any details that you are not comfortable sharing.Although our service is designed with a skills requirement in mind, we won’t be asking volunteers or trustees to quantify or detail their lived experience in the same way we ask about skills.
How to apply as a guest
To apply as a Guest, click the Apply Now button on the opportunity and you will see the option to either apply as a Guest or Create a volunteer profile. Select the option to Apply as a Guest
You will be taken through to a quick form, where you can share some information about yourself and your work history, and apply for the opportunity you're interested in.
We’ll review your application and work history to make sure you meet our criteria and the essential requirements for the role. You’ll have access to a dashboard on the Reach platform for the duration of your application so you can track your progress and message with the recruiters.
