Objectives

We support women aged 16+ who have been affected by domestic violence at any time in their lives. We support women to overcome the mental and emotional harm caused by abuse by providing women-only therapeutic services. We offer one-to-one counselling, support groups, and workshops. All of our services are free and confidential. By supporting women to regain control of their lives, we empower them to shape their own futures free from abuse.

Activities

We achieve our objectives by:

·         Providing free specialist services: (1) one-to-one counselling; (2) crisis counselling (3) support groups; (4) self-development workshops.

·         Working in partnership with other agencies:

-          To meet a woman’s specialist needs through collaborative, holistic, timely support;

-          To provide local services for women by using partner-provided spaces as counselling venues (often for free or at discounted rates).

·         Working strategically:

-          To ensure best practice through knowledge-sharing with other local services, including borough-based DV forums, Voluntary-sector Networking meetings, Partnership meetings, and Women’s Aid Regional Networks;

-          To improve awareness and understanding through presentations to referrers, potential referrers and other relevant agencies (such as Refuges, IAPT services, Family projects, Drug projects, police, GPs, schools and Social Services).
