Our objectives

Turtle Dove Cambridge is a Community Interest Company which exists to provide supported work experience for young women aged 14-24 who are or are at risk of not being in education, employment or training. We are an events company who provide opportunities alongside the hospitality industry.

We support young women who lack the confidence to gain training and employment due to negative life experiences.

The young women we work with gain invaluable transferrable soft skills such as customer service, organisation, professionalism, teamwork and problem solving. We also run an Alternative Education programme where accreditation in Food Safety, Allergen Awareness and more can be obtained.

This all contributes to increasing their confidence and connection with the community whilst re-engaging them in society.

Our activities

We work at events across the city, some of which are intergenerational, here the young women are a part of the team helping with set up, service, food and drink and clear away. The young women are supported by experienced youth workers with issues such as mental heath challenges, social isolation, next steps and more.

We have some afternoon tea packages where we provide the catering, vintage china and team to serve.

We run an Alternative Education programme in partnership with local businesses and other organisations where young women can gain a Certificate in "Introduction to Hospitality Operations" and accredited learning alongside valuable work experience.
