Volunteer Fundraising Director

This is a key role in sustaining and growing Turtle Dove Cambridge’s reach and impact. We’re a small team working hard to engage, empower and build confidence in young women aged 14–24 who are or are at risk of being NEET. This position is restricted to women applicants only.

 

What will you be doing?

As a voluntary Director of Fundraising, you will bring strategic oversight to how Turtle Dove generates income and builds meaningful relationships with supporters, partners and funders. 

You will help shape and guide our fundraising approach, ensuring it is sustainable, diverse and aligned with our mission. 

We have an experienced Board of Directors who are jointly responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the Community Interest Company, its financial health, its activities, and the development of the organisation’s aims, mission, objectives and goals. 

What are we looking for?

About you 

  • Experience in fundraising, partnerships, business development or similar 
  • Ability to think strategically and identify income opportunities 
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills 
  • Understanding of financial sustainability within a charity/CIC (desirable) 
  • Self-motivated and proactive 
  • Commitment to Turtle Dove’s purpose and values

Generating sustainable income is critical to enabling our programmes, events and opportunities. This role will help ensure we can continue to grow our impact and reach more young women who need our support. 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and guide a clear fundraising strategy to support organisational growth 
  • Identify and advise on opportunities across grants, partnerships, events and community fundraising 
  • Support the development of income streams and funding pipelines 
  • Provide strategic oversight of fundraising activities and performance 
  • Offer guidance on fundraising campaigns and supporter engagement 
  • Support relationship-building with key funders, sponsors and partners 
  • Encourage a culture of fundraising across the organisation 
  • Prepare and present fundraising updates to the board
