The Olive Branch has been offering affordable counselling to the people of Winchester and the surrounding area for 23 years. People who are struggling with depression, grief, anxiety, difficult relationships and many other issues. Many people make contact with The Olive Branch on the advice of their GP or the local Mental Health services. The Olive Branch offers up to a year of 1:1 counselling sessions. To have access to counselling for this length of time is very rare. Counselling helps people to work through their mental health difficulties and find different ways to cope. Weekly 1:1 counselling sessions enable people to be heard and make meaning of issues that are difficult for them. We frequently receive feedback about how the counselling has helped people move on in their lives.
The Olive Branch offers 1:1 counselling to individuals and to couples. Counselling is delivered by volunteers who are either in the process of training or have completed a level 5 training qualification. They receive clinical supervision from experienced supervisors, and support from the organisation to offer the best professional ethical service to their clients.
We also offer on going training to the counsellors to enhance and support their skills and practice.
