Objectives

Headway Leicester is a charity providing support and services for adults living in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland who have an acquired or traumatic brain injury. We offer practical information and advice to individuals and their families to assist them to adjust to their changed lives.  Our services include support through our Day Service at Headway House and a City and Countywide community outreach team.

Activities

We are currently seeking volunteers to join our Trustee Board. Trustees are, in effect, Directors of the Charity which has an annual budget of approx £250,000, much of which is public funding. The trustees set the direction for the charity, take strategic management decisions and ensure that both public and voluntary funds are used appropriately. The day to day management of the organisation is the responsibility of the Services Director.

Our existing Board comes from a range of backgrounds and bring their knowledge and experience together to make an effective team. Being involved with Headway and contributing to its success gives a great sense of satisfaction. As well as making independent judgements; trustees need to be able to work with others, think strategically, contribute to meetings and act with honesty and integrity.
