Objectives

Families First work with children and young people aged 5-16 years, and their families, with additional support needs, living throughout North East Fife. Our aims are to improve social connections, improve educational outcomes and improve wellbeing.

Activities

We have three core services: One to One Befriending, Young People's Support Service and Family Support. Children and young people are referred to our One-to-One Befriending Service because they face challenges in life or might be lonely. Children are matched with a volunteer befriender who shares the same interest as them and will listen to their problems. Staff and volunteer youth workers can support referred children and young people in school, at our youth groups and during school holidays. We offer new experiences such as ultimate Frisbee, Cheerleading, climbing wall, cooking, team and board games. We know that by supporting parents and carers in times of need we can achieve better outcomes for the children we work with. Currently, we offer one-to one support, group work and family days and drop in facilities.
