We seek a volunteer with experience in email communications, ideally including putting togther a simple weekly e-newsletter. All items for inclusion in the newsletter will be provided but they need to be checked and put in good order.

What will you be doing?

Historically based in South Buckinghamshire, we are a small, well established registered charity which has been running for 30+ years. We are an entirely self help group providing job search advice and support to professionals, managers and graduates who are seeking employment.

Since March 2020 our presentations, coaching and meetings have been virtual via Zoom thus allowing us to widen our potential market.

We now need someone to join our small team of volunteers who compile and circulate our simple weekly newsletter. Training and guidance will be provided.

Our weekly e-newsletter is an increasingly important marketing tool.

Our newsletter team are constantly thinking of simple ways to improve and enhance our weekly newsletter.

All the work involved in producing the newsletter will be done from home, working online under the guidance of the others in the newsletter team.

The commitment is approx 2-3 hours per week.

Applicants must be living in the UK.

At least 3 years of e-newsletter production of similar are required.

What are we looking for?

We seek a volunteer with at least three years experience in email communications, ideally including putting togther a simple weekly e-newsletter. All items for inclusion in the newsletter will be provided but they need to be checked and put in good order.

We are seeking a volunteer who has IT / email ability.  Design skills will be an advantage as opportunities will arise when this volunteer can enhance the weekly newsletter with improvements to the layout and display.

The newsletter volunteer will have the capacity to plan and work alone but with full guidance, subject items and recommendations from some of the trustees and volunteers who manage the charity.

Work will be from home, approx 2-3 hours per week, on a rosta basis with others in the newsletter team.

Success will be measured by the promptness, timeliness and error-free production of the weekly newsletter.

The weekly newsletter will be prepared and compiled each week for circulation by email each Friday and again, as a reminder to our members, the following Monday morning.

What difference will you make?

We want to increase and improve our communications with our members who are all job seekers. We want to utilise modern marketing techniques,in particular our newsletter, to expand our visibility, relevance and impact in order to attract more job seekers to our weekly virtual Zoom meetings.

Unemployment can be isolating. It can damage confidence and self esteem, impacting not only the financial but emotional stability of those involved. We have the capacity to support more people through our services. You would enable us to do that by increasing awareness through the items which will be given to you for inclusion in the weekly newsletter.

The success of your marketing efforts will be visible weekly as more job seekers join us and benefit from our services.

Before you apply

We do not have a formal application form.  Applicants should respond to the descriptions, explanations and expectations of the role as laid out above.

Applications will be considered by one of our 7 trustees. Initial interviews will be virtual via Zoom.

If successful at the initial stage, the applicant will then be interviewed by 1 or 2 other trustees.

Any appointment of the newsletter volunteer will be decided on by the Executive Committee of trustees.
