Dream Renewables are looking for a someone to re-develop our website. 

You will be given creative licence, while working within existing brand

What will you be doing?

About Dream Renewables:

Dream Renewables – an offshoot from Dream Big Ghana Foundation – work to promote renewable energy and sustainable technology in rural Ghana.

We educate people on the technical and business aspects of solar power and clean cooking, and work with communities to install community owned solar power infrastructure and distribute clean cooking equipment.

Our work aims to combat climate change, global inequality, and rural development in Ghana.

About the role:

We are looking for a someone to re-develop our website. We want a professional website which effectively tells our story and promotes our work, enables people to make gift aid donations and matches our brand.

The successful candidate will be given creative licence and freedom to explore different options and hopefully have fun with the task. However, the website will need to fit into the existing brand, and the board will need to approve the final website before going live.   

The position will be remote working as we do not have an office in the UK, although Barnaby, our UK based volunteer lives in London, and is happy to meet up occasionally to help develop the website.

This position could be spread over a week or two, close to full time, or spread over several months with a few hours each week or anywhere in between.

About the successful candidate:

As a remote volunteer role, the successful candidate will need to be:

  • Self-motivated
  • Creative and Passionate about the project and about web design
  • Happy to guide the Dream Renewables team on appropriate website builder, hosting etc. you will be the expert in this field within the team.

What are we looking for?

The successful applicant will need to have two sets of skills 

  1. Technical know how
    1. To create an effective website using a flexible, common and widely used website builder
    2. To integrate gift donations into the website
    3. To help set up google tag manager and analytics so we can track the website impact.  
  2. Two creative marketing skills
    1. To enjoy the creative side of web development
    2. To be comfortable working to an existing brand (very loosely defined), but also suggesting improvements to this brand.

What difference will you make?

Our website currently holds us back. We have had this feedback from funders, supporter and beneficiaries. 

An effective website will drive more donations, increase our brand visibility and lead to a financially sustainable future for Dream Renewables
