We are looking for an experienced bid-writer to write grant applications for us.
At Being The Cure, we believe in developing the next generation of society's heroes through our evidence-informed character education that instils humility, honesty, and kindness in every child and young person.
Our mission is inspired by the words of Arthur Ashe: 'True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.'
We address the gap in character education within the National Curriculum by providing schools with our Heroism Framework. This framework focuses on instilling values such as humility, honesty, and kindness in every child and young person, guiding them to connect with their moral compass. By collaborating with schools, we offer guidance on integrating character education into lessons, empowering students to make positive life choices and steer clear of negative influences like gang activity and crime.
Currently, we operate free Saturday Schools for Heroism in Newham, a disadvantaged area of London, serving children and young people aged 8-18 regardless of their family's financial circumstances. Moreover, we provide training for teachers and educational leaders on character education strategies, extending our impact beyond our program to the wider education system.
Our long-term vision includes expanding our Saturday Schools to other London boroughs and eventually nationwide. We also prioritize engaging parents in our collective education approach, ensuring that learning extends beyond our program and into the home environment.
Ultimately, our goal is to create a generation of everyday heroes who uphold values of humility, honesty, and kindness and commit to making good decisions throughout their lives.
We are looking for a creative and experienced individual who could support with bid-writing and grant applications and improve our existing content to appeal to funders. As a Bid Writer, you’ll craft compelling proposals to attract grants and sponsorships, ensuring our mission to educate and inspire children about heroism continues to grow.
You will have excellent writing skills, a creative approach to persuasive text writing, a research-oriented outlook, and the ability to scour the internet for information.
You will support a reform that will positively change the lives of hundreds of thousands of children and young people.
You will be helping us mitigate inequality within the society and reducing the involvement of children and young people in anti-social groups, gangs, and crime.
Contact us with a cover letter outlining why you would like to volunteer with us.
