Our objectives
Sonic Radioboom is an independent, community-led online radio station founded in 2012. Our mission is to bring people together through music, creativity and shared interests by providing a welcoming space for fans from a wide range of communities, including gaming, furry, anime, sci-fi and other fandoms.
We support our community by providing free entertainment, opportunities to develop broadcasting and creative skills, and a platform where volunteers can gain real-world experience in radio, media, graphic design, journalism, social media and technology. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to contribute, learn and be part of a positive, inclusive community regardless of their previous experience.
By working together, our volunteers help create engaging content while building confidence, teamwork and practical skills that can benefit them in future education, employment and personal projects
Our activities
Sonic Radioboom's core activities include:
Broadcasting a 24/7 online radio station.
Producing live radio shows and podcasts.
Supporting and promoting independent artists and creators.
Creating social media, website and multimedia content.
Building and moderating an online community through Discord and other platforms.
Providing volunteer opportunities in broadcasting, journalism, graphic design, web development, IT, video production and community management.
Covering fandom events and conventions where possible.
Training and mentoring volunteers to help them develop practical skills and experience.
