How do I apply for a volunteer or trustee opportunity?
The Reach Volunteering website is a self-service platform where social purpose organisations and people looking for trustee and volunteer roles can connect with each other.
If you meet our criteria - namely that you are based in the UK and have at least three years of experience in one of our skills areas - then please join us and apply for the trustee and volunteer roles listed on our platform.
Reach does not accept applications directly or by email, and we kindly ask that you apply through the platform. You can apply for roles by either creating a volunteer profile, or applying as a guest.

Create a volunteer profile and apply
Register
Complete our simple form to create log in details and register to join the Reach Community as a volunteer.
Verify your email address
After completing this form we will email you to verify your email address. The subject line of the email is ‘Please verify your email address’. Be sure to check your junk mail if you don’t receive an email from us within 5 minutes.
For support on what to do if you do not receive your validation email.
Create your volunteer profile
Click on the link we send you in the verification email and you will return to our site, where you can create a volunteer profile.
Our volunteer profile form will ask you to write a bit about yourself, your skills, interests and availability for volunteering. We will also ask you to provide evidence of your work history so that we can make sure that you meet our criteria for volunteers. You can choose which parts of your profile will appear publicly, but your CV and work history are never available to the general public. You share this with recruiting organisations when you apply for opportunities with them.

Submit your volunteer profile
Once you have completed and submitted your profile, it will be sent to our service team to be reviewed, to check you meet our criteria. You will receive an email from us when your profile has been approved - or if we have any questions.
Search for opportunities
In the meantime, you can search our opportunities and apply for any that seem a good match for your experience and your volunteer preferences.
Apply
To apply, click on the Apply Now button on the role you wish to apply for. You will then be given the opportunity to tell the organisation why you’re interested in this opportunity, and what skills and experience you could bring to the role.
With a volunteer profile, you can apply for as many roles as you would like to, but we would not recommend having more than a few open applications at a time, as it might be difficult to juggle too many applications at once.
Apply as a guest
If you would prefer not to create a volunteer profile, but see an opportunity that really interests you, you can apply as a guest. As a guest, you can apply for up to five opportunities, and your account will expire after 30 days. If you would like to apply for more roles after this time, please log in and create a full volunteer profile.
To apply as a Guest, click the Apply Now button on the opportunity and you will see the option to either apply as a Guest or Create a volunteer profile. Select the option to Apply as a Guest
You will be taken through to a quick form, where you can share some information about yourself and your work history, and apply for the opportunity you're interested in.
We’ll review your application and work history to make sure you meet our criteria and the essential requirements for the role.
You’ll have access to a dashboard on the Reach platform for the duration of your application so you can track your progress and message with the recruiters. For more information about guest applications.
