Dementia Carers Respite

Charity
Local

Our objectives

The purpose of the charity is the relief of persons caring for people with Dementia within the family or home (who do not qualify for NHS support and do not have sufficient resources for private carers services) by offering a respite service through the provision of community-based care attendants in Buckinghamshire.

Our activities

Our Charity will do its utmost and work tirelessly to bridge as much of the gap in Buckinghamshire as possible by providing short term, professional cover paid for by the Charity for family members acting as Dementia Carers.

The respite carers provided by the charity will be trained by professionals and where need be we will subcontract specialist services from screened carers organisations meeting CARE QUALITY COMISSION standards.

The respite offer will be set at 2 or 4 hours (Day Time) fortnightly

The services will be offered to as many as possible carers of Moderate stage patients with unmet needs

Subject to GDPR rules the services will aim to use County council assessments and NHS social prescribers

Our Charity will follow up with a call to the patient/their carer for feedback

We will raise funds and raise awareness with coffee mornings and Market stalls on market days, we will also organise sporting fund raising days.

However, most funding generated will need to come from VIP dinners and auctions, professional presentations to local businesses, Donations from local councils within Buckinghamshire and also national large charities associated with health care and dementia. We have already been successful in securing  National Lottery funding.
