ADAPT Charity
Our objectives
ADAPT Charity supports adults recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, particularly those who have completed or are transitioning from rehabilitation, are experiencing homelessness, or are seeking a safe, abstinence-based environment to rebuild their lives. Many of our beneficiaries face complex challenges including unstable housing, poor mental health, social isolation, and limited access to employment or support networks.
We help by providing safe, sober and supported housing alongside a structured, holistic recovery programme. This includes free access to one-to-one counselling, group therapy, peer support, psycho-educational workshops, and a bespoke day programme delivered by qualified addiction professionals. Our approach integrates evidence-based treatment models with 12-step principles, ensuring that each individual receives tailored support suited to their recovery journey. We also support residents to develop life skills, rebuild relationships, and progress into independent living, employment, and long-term recovery. (ADAPT Oxford - Addicts are people too!)
Our work matters because without stable housing and ongoing therapeutic support, many individuals in recovery are at high risk of relapse, homelessness, and re-engagement with the criminal justice system. ADAPT provides a vital bridge between rehabilitation and independent living—offering not just a place to stay, but a structured pathway to sustained recovery. By helping people maintain abstinence, rebuild their confidence, and reintegrate into society, we create lasting change for individuals, families, and the wider community. Our activities
ADAPT Charity’s core activities centre on supporting individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction through a structured, abstinence-based programme that combines housing, therapeutic support, and personal development.
We provide safe, sober supported housing for adults transitioning from rehabilitation or unstable living situations, offering a stable environment where recovery can be sustained. Alongside this, we deliver a comprehensive recovery programme which includes one-to-one counselling, group therapy, peer-led support, and psycho-educational workshops focused on relapse prevention, emotional wellbeing, and life skills.
Our activities also include structured day programmes that promote routine, responsibility, and personal growth, as well as support with rebuilding relationships, accessing education or employment opportunities, and progressing towards independent living. We work holistically with each individual, addressing not only addiction but also the underlying social, emotional, and practical challenges that impact long-term recovery.
Through this integrated approach, ADAPT provides a clear pathway from early recovery to independence, equipping individuals with the tools, confidence, and support networks needed to sustain lasting change.
