Objectives

We provide sheltered accommodation and support for up to 11 residents (65+) who want to be independent and self-reliant without the worry of maintaining their own home.  Our House Manager provides a lunch and evening meal for the residents and helps our residents stay independent and active in the local community.   Shared activities at the house provide companionship and support to help residents get the most out of their later years.

A range of volunteer roles which include befriending, shopping volunteers, armchair aerobics provide further support for our residents.

Following a recent extension of communal facilities we can welcome older people in the local community to join in with activities at the house

Activities

We have been investing in updating rooms and facilities for residents so that we can provide residents with high quality accommodation.   By securing funds through fundraising we have been able to achieve this, while keeping our monthly rents to residents low.

We have developed links with the local Social Prescribing team who provide us with contact details of older people in the local area who are lonely and would welcome an opportunity to join our residents for coffee mornings or lunches.

Our range of volunteer activities also include opportunities for young people on the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme to volunteer at the house.
