Help strengthen SHH-UK’s volunteer community by fostering engagement, motivation, and belonging among volunteers supporting healthcare workers living with Long Covid. A rewarding remote role focused on our volunteers.

What will you be doing?

  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with SHH-UK volunteers.
  • Work closely with the Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator to ensure smooth onboarding and induction processes.
  • Support volunteers to feel valued, motivated, and connected to SHH-UK’s mission.
  • Identify and respond to volunteers’ training and development needs.
  • Create opportunities for ongoing engagement, such as check-ins, feedback sessions, and recognition activities.
  • Report regularly on volunteer engagement and activities to the Trustee lead(s) and Board.
  • Contribute ideas to strengthen SHH-UK’s volunteer culture and retention.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in volunteer engagement, community building, or people management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – able to motivate, listen, and build trust.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with good organisational skills.
  • Empathy and understanding of the challenges facing healthcare workers living with Long Covid.
  • Ability to foster inclusion, belonging, and shared purpose among volunteers.
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely as part of a small, dedicated team.
  • Commitment to SHH-UK’s mission, values, and ethos of compassion and support.
