Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens Trust
Trustee with experience of capital building projects
Growing! We know a thing or two about that. But now we need to grow some sustainable buildings to accommodate our expanded visitor needs...
What will you be doing?
Last year 53% more people – users, visitors, audiences – came to this 40 acre ‘hidden gem’ of historic urban green in East Birmingham.
We’re known for our warm welcome, beautiful spaces and range of exciting cultural and environmental experiences.
We’re ready for further growth!
As a small independent charitable Trust we punch well above our weight.
Could you use your experience in sustainable building practices, capital projects business or financial development to boost our sustainable future?
We are seeking two dynamic additions to our Board of Trustees to drive us on to the next stage
What are we looking for?
We are particularly seeking those with experience and skills in:
- Business change; business and financial planning (especially in independent, charity and Heritage sectors).
- Building and capital projects - we are currently consulting and getting to concept drawing stage for completely new buildings onsite. Can you help build on the momentum for the next stage?
- Fundraising - especially planning for multi-year support in the heritage and environmental arenas.
- Preferably, but not essentially, you will have some experience of Charity Boards or leadership roles.
What difference will you make?
Over the last two years our governance structure has been updated and the new 'bijou' Board has begun to constructively develop our sustainable futures.
With some of the most experienced Trustees stepping down soon, we need an injection of new skills and enthusiasm. Our visitor/user numbers - regional tourists and hyper-local communities- have more than doubled since the pandemic: people are really appreciating this Grade2* historic site on their industrial doorstep. But with no regular external income, we're in enterpreneurial mode - growing our offer and most importantly creating new welcome and activity building to serve as a creative, heritage beacon for this area of the conurbation. Your experiences in building projects, eco building and capital fundraising could help us keep this amazing 350 year old space thriving for the coming decades.
