Senior full-stack developer & team lead

What will you be doing?

We are looking for someone join as a full-stack developer and tech team lead for an initial three months, then after this period you will also join the board as trustee and act as a voice for the tech team, raising any issues or concerns.

As trustee, you will be joining a proactive and busy board, and you will play an important part in supporting and shaping our work. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute your skills and insight.

What are we looking for?

On the tech team lead side, we are looking for a full-stack developer to build a responsive, accessible web app to improve on our existing previous Android/iOS app. A lot of design work for the app has been done, we’ve got a UX flow and we are ready to start prototyping. We need someone who has experience using Rive, and we also have funding for Azure. You would also be liaising with other teams at Help Close By including the data team and comms team. As we’ve recently had a high volunteer turnover for this team, we would need your help in rebuilding the tech team, interviewing volunteers to find people that you would work well with. 

Advanced DBS clearance is required for this role (we can fund this).

We've been fighting poverty in Birmingham since 2020. 

Our charity's app connects as much support as possible so that people can make a simple request for help that goes to securely to organisations nearby and relevant to their needs. 

We are an entirely volunteer-run charity, and everyone's contribution makes a huge difference.
