Newsletter Content Creator
Help us engage our audiences by improving our email newsletter format or create engaging newsletter content so that we can get more local people involved in climate action.
What will you be doing?
Our charity supports a network of climate and nature groups in our town as well as running our own projects. We are looking for people with a talent in writing engaging content to help us with our goal to engage local residents in climate action.
We would like the volunteer to help with:
- Newsletter content: Write content that is short, relevant and has clear a call-to-action and generates high click through rates. But also gets people to turn up to events, volunteer and share with us what the action they have been taking.
- We currently use Mailchimp but we think we could use this in much better way. We need guidance here if you know about Mailchimp or want to learn.
- Help us decide the frequency and format of our newsletters.
- Content planning: Plan content for forthcoming newsletters. Contact and connect with the network of community groups, our local Council's Climate Officer and other local people to identify local news climate and nature news stories.
You will be working with a small core group who will provide an overview of our existing communication and marketing materials, as well as our very basic brand guidelines (which we are happy to have suggestions to improve)
We're a small charity so if you are good at working independently. We support each other and volunteer wellbeing is important to us.
What are we looking for?
- Strong content writing and editing skills
- Inquisitive
- Experience using Mailchimp (desirable but not necesary)
- Able to ask questions that help you understand the needs of our group / members / supporters
- Able to ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
- Appreciate the resource constraints of a small charity and is able to work with these.
- Open to feedback
What difference will you make?
We know that communication is key and someone reading our newsletter could be a first step in them taking action on climate change either in their personal life or in the community. Your contribution will help widen the reach of the charity and strengthen our town's response to climate change.
