Music Charity is Seeking New Trustees
Music and the Deaf is seeking new trustees!
What will you be doing?
Music and the Deaf looking for new trustees to join the board of directors.
Please note that this is a voluntary role and as such, there will be no payment, other than that specified by the Charity Commission as regards reasonable expenses. As a volunteer, it will be an opportunity for you to develop experience of charity management and to make a difference to people's lives.
Our trustees work collectively to:
- Make sure the charity keeps proper accounts.
- Review the charity's financial performance.
- Draw up or review policies to ensure effective charity management.
- Ensure that the charity has robust and effective financial controls in place.
- Liaise with the Artistic Director if needed to support any developments which take place within the charity.
- Make joint decisions with the directors in relation to the charity and it's activities.
The successful candidate will be required to attend board meetings on a quarterly basis.
If you are interested in applying to become a trustee, we would love to hear from you! A current CV and covering letter will need to be submitted to this e mail address no later than 12 noon on 29th June 2026.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people with a passion for inclusion and to play a role, as part of a board of trustees, to continue and develop the charity's work. Experience of the arts and education sectors would be an advantage. Candidates with marketing and/or charity fundraising backgrounds would also be especially welcome to apply.
What difference will you make?
As a trustee, you will be making an influential difference, helping to remove existing barriers which deaf people often face, ensuring that through music-making, they can aspire to become musicians just like their hearing peers, develop confidence in expressing themselves, share creative ideas and develop social skills. We believe that our work is life changing and that everyone, regardless of their level of hearing, should be able to access, enjoy and thrive through music-making.
Before you apply
A current CV and covering letter will be most welcomed. The application process will consist of an informal meeting with one of our Trustees and Artistic Director at a mutually convenient time.
