This role would suit a proactive volunteer with experience in grant writing.

  • Voluntary Unpaid Remote, within the UK
  • Min. commitment of 12 months
  • 3-7 hours per week
  • Travel and other reasonable expenses will be reimbursed in line with our policy.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities

  • Research potential funding opportunities, including trusts, awards, foundations, and grant-giving bodies
  • Write compelling, tailored grant applications aligned with the charity’s mission and projects
  • Maintain a pipeline of funding opportunities, tracking deadlines and application progress
  • Work with the team to gather information, data, and impact stories to strengthen applications
  • Reporting on funding and donation income to the Board, and assist in reporting back to funders, including contributing to impact reports where required
  • Identify new fundraising ideas or income streams where appropriate
  • Support with organising and planning fundraising activities

What are we looking for?

Essential criteria

  • Experience in grant writing, with the ability to develop clear, compelling funding applications
  • Previous experience within the charity sector
  • Excellent research skills, with the ability to identify relevant funding opportunities
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office including Word, Powerpoint and Excel)
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and remotely as part of a mainly volunteer team
  • A proactive, reliable, and passionate approach towards supporting our charitable objectives

Desirable

  • Experience contributing to fundraising strategy or wider income generation
  • Ability to analyse data and incorporate impact metrics into applications
  • Experience writing funder reports or evaluations
  • Interest in or understanding of the charity’s specific focus area

As a small charity, we rely on fundraising to continue delivering our service at no cost to those who need it. Each grant secured helps increase access to areola tattooing, and this role will play a key part in ensuring the organisation’s sustainability and growth. 

In this role, you’ll work closely with our close-knit, purpose-driven team to shape funding bids and help build a strong pipeline of income opportunities. 

This is a great opportunity to build hands-on experience in fundraising and grant-writing while making a tangible difference to people affected by breast cancer.
