We understand that not everyone will meet every point listed above, so if you are enthusiastic, motivated and interested in helping grow an organisation focused on social justice, innovation and financial wellbeing, we would still love to hear from you.

This role is flexible and can be shaped around the volunteer’s strengths, interests and availability, with opportunities to gain hands-on experience, contribute ideas and play a meaningful role in helping YFW grow and increase its impact.

What difference will you make?

At Your Financial Wellbeing, we believe financial stress affects far more than finances alone. It can impact mental wellbeing, family relationships, confidence, physical health and overall quality of life. We also recognise that many financial challenges are shaped by wider social issues such as inequality, insecure work, rising living costs and barriers to accessing support.

We are working to improve access to trauma-informed financial wellbeing support while developing innovative approaches and ethical technology that can strengthen the wider money advice sector and make support easier to access.

This volunteer role will play an important part in helping YFW grow sustainably and increase our long-term impact. By supporting funding research, partnership development and business growth opportunities, the volunteer will help us build the foundations needed to expand our work and reach more individuals, families and communities experiencing financial stress.

Their contribution will directly support our ability to secure funding, develop partnerships and strengthen relationships with organisations that share our values, including housing associations, local authorities, charities, universities and community partners. This will help YFW increase awareness of financial wellbeing, reduce stigma around debt and financial stress, and improve access to compassionate and person-centred support.

The role will also help drive innovation within YFW. We are exploring ethical uses of technology to improve accessibility and reduce barriers for people seeking financial support. By helping identify opportunities, partnerships and resources, the volunteer will contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches that can strengthen support for both individuals and the organisations helping them.

Ultimately, this role will help YFW build stronger foundations for growth, sustainability and social impact. As a small but ambitious organisation, volunteer support in this area could make a meaningful difference to how quickly we can develop partnerships, secure resources and create lasting change.

This is an opportunity for a volunteer to see the direct impact of their contribution while helping shape an organisation focused on compassion, social justice, innovation and reducing the harmful effects of financial stress.
