Help us celebrate the 50th birthday of the adventure playground, nursery and younger children's playground, with a calendar of fun events, projects, community engagement, and fundraisers in 2024.

What will you be doing?

With your help, we want to reach out to "alumni" of the playground from the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's, many of whom have already shared warm memories, as well as to current families, and create a year of celebrations and fundraising to mark the 50th anniversary of the adventure playground and One O'Clock Club.  We have ideas including parties and events themed around "50", renewing our mural, renaming the play garden for younger children, creating an online history, and using all of these to fundraise for new awnings and play attractions.  There is plenty of scope for you to take this role in the direction you wish, eg. focusing on social media, on a specific event, or extending the contacts and networks that we already have.

What are we looking for?

Communications, marketing and/or events experience would be relevant.

What difference will you make?

Your marketing or events support will increase the capacity of trustees and staff to celebrate this important milestone, and help to direct energies for the most impact, in terms of community awareness and fundraising.  In turn, this will help strengthen the Playcentres' position for the future.
