Objectives

Marble Hill Playcentres is a registered charity and voluntary organisation delivering play, development and learning opportunities for local children, young people and families. At Marble Hill Playcentres our goal is to provide excellent quality play opportunities for children and young people of all ages and abilities in a safe and stimulating environment, enabling them to develop and thrive. We believe that play is central to every child’s holistic development and we are committed to helping families achieve a greater level of play in their lives.

We aim to:

• Empower local Families, Children and Young people to shake off the ‘cotton wool’ state of mind by encouraging exercise and increased access to outdoor play spaces.

• Be inclusive for all children and young people regardless of their ability, culture and ethnicity.

• Be respectful to outdoor environments and natural spaces, by encouraging the use of recyclable materials and keeping our emissions to a minimum.

• Be committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.

Activities

Our offer includes:

  • A supervised open access Adventure Playground, unique to the London Borough of Richmond, offering free-flow play opportunities for children and young people aged 5 to 15 years.
  • The One O' Clock Club, a drop in centre for parents/carers and their babies, toddlers and children aged 0 -5 years. As well as providing stimulating play activities, it serves as a hub for informal support networks for parents, carers and vulnerable families.
  • The Inclusive Play Project which includes play sessions designed specifically for children and young people with additional needs, their siblings and parents or caregivers. We also have an Inclusive Playworker who supports children with additional needs within the mainstream sessions. We also offer some one-to-one support for children and young people who may require additional help in accessing our mainstream play sessions.
