True Honour is a registered charity supporting victims and survivors of honour-based violence, forced marriage, domestic abuse, and harmful practices. We raise awareness, educate, and support individuals to empower them and build safer communities.

What will you be doing?

Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated volunteer accountant to support the financial health and compliance of our charity. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate financial records, support with budget preparation, and ensure we meet our reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date financial records using accounting software or spreadsheets
  • Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial reports
  • Support budget planning and financial forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and charity commission requirements
  • Liaise with external auditors or independent examiners if required
  • Assist with grant reporting and donor financial reports
  • Offer general financial guidance to the charity’s leadership team

What are we looking for?

Skills and Experience

  • Professional qualification (or working towards) in accounting (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW)
  • Experience with bookkeeping and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of charity accounting practices and regulations is desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) is an advantage
