About me
I am an aspiring community leader, writer and advocate for mental wellbeing. I have volunteered as a mentor within a mentoring programme for girls - The Catalyst Collective and I have also been an ambassador for a homeless charity - LandAid. I have been rooted in the voluntary sector since I could work from the age of 16. I volunteered every summer upto the age of 18 and worked my way up from admin roles to a youth worker within my borough, I did this part time while studying. It gave me the understanding of programmes, activities, community engagement, facilitation and more.
With the use of of my BA Hons degree I landed myself in the property and construction industry within in roles ranging from design to community. My current role as a Community Liaison Officer I oversee the programming of the community hub, provide various communications, manage the social media, create presentations, provide strategic thinking to community engagement strategies across the business and navigate the implementation working with various teams.
Outside of work I use my creative writing skills to express myself, write poetry, encourage others and provide support and guidance for my community to use writing as an outlet tool. I am also building a community to deliver further writing workshops especially around the theme of mental health in the workplace. My personal skills and characteristics include attention to detail, creativity, empathy, strong listening skills. I have interests in the arts, health and wellbeing, writing, travelling and community connection.
What am I looking for?
I am looking for trustee roles within youth organisations, creative organisations or mental health organisations where I can use my lived experience as well as professional skills to empower people towards positive mental health. I can use my creativity, strategic thinking and engagement experience to tackle challenges faced and support an organisation to drive change and gain impact.
