About me
I am a senior technology and governance leader with 25 years of experience in complex, regulated organisations — including WPP, Arup, Heathrow Airport, the BBC and the British Standards Institute. I am a qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) and Chartered IT Professional (CITP), and I currently serve as Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair at Article 19, the global freedom of expression organisation.
Most recently I designed and built WPP Open — the advertising industry's first end-to-end AI platform, now serving over 60,000 users across 300 agencies worldwide. I also led a cyber security transformation across the Aga Khan Development Network's health services division, protecting 450 health centres and 15 hospitals across East Africa and Asia.
I am now seeking board and trustee roles in the health, social care, disability and human rights sectors — areas I care about deeply, both professionally and personally. My youngest son is autistic, which has given me a lived understanding of what joined-up, compassionate services look like in practice, and what it feels like when they fall short. I have a long-term ambition to serve on the board of a major autism or disability charity.
My professional skills include digital transformation, AI governance, financial stewardship, risk management, and cyber security. I am equally comfortable in the boardroom and in conversation with frontline staff and service users.
Beyond work, I am a trustee of the Inspiring Leadership Foundation, a passionate reader of philosophy and literature, and a devoted father. I believe that the best boards combine rigorous governance with genuine human curiosity — and that is exactly what I aim to bring.
What am I looking for?
I am looking for trustee and non-executive director roles in health, social care, disability, and human rights — sectors where technology and governance can make a genuine difference to people's lives.
My primary areas of interest are community health services, mental health, autism and neurodiversity, and organisations working at the intersection of technology and social good. I have a personal connection to autism through my youngest son, and a long-term ambition to serve on the board of a major autism or disability charity.
I can offer most value in roles requiring one or more of the following: digital transformation oversight, AI governance and ethics, financial stewardship and audit, cyber security, or general board governance in complex and regulated environments. I am equally comfortable as a trustee contributing across a broad remit or as a specialist non-executive with a defined committee role — for example, chairing or contributing to a Digital, Audit, or Risk Committee.
I am particularly interested in community health providers, NHS-adjacent organisations, social enterprises, and charities with an annual income above £5m where governance rigour genuinely matters. I am also open to human rights, freedom of expression, and international development organisations, reflecting my current role at Article 19.
I am based in Surrey and can commit comfortably to 2-3 days per month for the right role.
