About me
I am currently the Chief Operating Officer of a supported housing organisation managing approximately 780 units across over 50 local authority areas. Throughout my career, I have been heavily involved in organisational growth, operational leadership, governance, quality assurance, and strategic development. When I joined the organisation, it employed just three staff members and managed fewer than 100 units. Over time, I have helped support its growth into a much larger operation with a substantial workforce and extensive housing portfolio.
Alongside this role, I also serve as a Company Director of a supported living care provider, giving me valuable experience across both housing and care services. This has provided me with a broad understanding of organisational governance, regulatory compliance, service development, financial oversight, risk management, partnership working, and sustainable growth.
I am passionate about improving outcomes for people who require support and have a strong commitment to ensuring organisations operate effectively, ethically, and with a clear focus on delivering high-quality services. My professional experience is complemented by personal insight gained through supporting close family members with mental health and neurodiverse needs, which has further strengthened my understanding of the challenges many individuals and families face.
I recognise the important role that Trustees and Non-Executive Directors play in providing strategic oversight, ensuring strong governance, managing risk, maintaining accountability, and supporting long-term organisational sustainability. I believe I can bring a practical, strategic, and grounded perspective to a Board, combining hands-on operational experience with the ability to provide constructive challenge, independent scrutiny, and informed support to executive teams. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute my skills, experience, and commitment to helping an organisation achieve its mission and deliver meaningful impact.
What am I looking for?
I am particularly interested in organisations that support vulnerable people and improve community wellbeing, including supported housing, homelessness prevention, mental health, learning disabilities, autism, social care, health and wellbeing, and wider charitable causes that create positive social impact.
I am keen to take on Trustee and Non-Executive Director roles where I can contribute my experience in governance, strategy, organisational growth, operational leadership, risk management, regulatory compliance, and service quality. Having worked at senior leadership and board level within housing and care organisations, I am particularly interested in supporting organisations through periods of growth, change, service development, and strengthening governance arrangements.
While my professional background is rooted in housing, care, and support services, I would also welcome opportunities within charities, social enterprises, and community-focused organisations where I can bring a practical, strategic perspective, provide constructive challenge, and help organisations achieve their long-term objectives and maximise their impact.
