Our objectives

We work directly with young people, teachers, parents, businesses and influencers to help build a successful and sustainable future for all young people and society at large.

Through our hands-on employability, enterprise and financial education programmes, resources and teacher training, we aim to reduce youth unemployment, help young people realise their potential beyond education and empower a generation to learn, to work and to live.

Our activities

Enterprise Programmes

At Young Enterprise, we recognise the need for educators to have access to high quality careers and employability opportunities for their students. We offer a range of enterprise programmes and workshops which support careers education, provide meaningful employer encounters and help young people develop the skills they need for the future.

  • Company Programme empowers young people to set up and run a student company under the guidance of a business volunteer. Students make all the decisions about their business, from deciding on the company name, managing the company finances and selling to the public. Participants gain practical business experience and key skills.
  • Team Programme is an enterprise journey for students who have mild to moderate learning difficulties. Designed to aid young people’s transition from education into independent living and employment, the programme develops confidence and life skills through working as a team to set up and run an enterprise.
  • Start-up Programme the ultimate employability and entrepreneurship experience for HE and FE students. Start-Up programme gives university students the opportunity to develop employability skills and prepare for the world of work. We believe in learning by doing, which is why Start-Up participants set up and run their own student company for up to 12 months.
  • YE Learning Zone is home to our digital programmes including Route to Success and Employable Me. The digital programmes allow students to work independently, and remotely if necessary, and are designed to develop the vital skills young people need to earn and look after their money.
  • Employability Masterclass provides an opportunity for students to learn from local employers and employees about the skills and qualities that are required to be successful in the workplace and to build a broader understanding of the workplace and employment.
  • Learn to Earn provides an opportunity for all young people to understand the full range of opportunities that are available to them, to learn from employers about work and the skills that are valued in the workplace.
  • Launch Pad is a day long, high impact engaging enterprise challenge. Students work alongside inspiring business volunteers who support students to discover more about themselves and develop key skills which are valued in the workplace.
