Watermoor House RCH is a registered charity and all trustees are volunteers. It was originally set up over 60 years ago to provide housing for the retired staff of Gloucestershire gentry. Now Watermoor House is open to provide residential, respite and additional care for all elderly people who no longer wish to live on their own. Our professional staff teams offer friendly care in a homely environment where older people can feel safe and secure and enjoy the companionship of others. In line with its origins, Watermoor House’s building is an elegant Georgian manor house with beautiful, well-kept gardens in the heart of Cirencester.
We provide support in a comfortable and caring environment for up to 39 residents where they are encouraged to maintain their independence and continue to make decisions about how they wish to live their lives. Watermoor House is small enough to offer a genuine homely atmosphere where each resident is treated like part of an extended family. Our team of professionals take the time to get to know each resident, their life story and their friends and family.
Our purpose at Watermoor House is to provide safe, affordable residential care for older people so they can enjoy good quality of life in a friendly yet professional setting. Trustees form the management committee for the charity. Alongside our senior professional managers, trustees provide the strategic framework for the organisation, setting goals and objectives, overseeing good governance, professional standards of care and staff training, compliance and sound financial management of the Charity.
Trustees participate in board meetings every other month and sit on occasional subcommittees. You will also be encouraged to meet with residents and staff and participate when you can in our many and varied events for residents.
