Volunteer Centre Dorset is an accredited centre supporting volunteering for all residents and organisations across rural Dorset. We provide brokerage, training, volunteer development, campaigning and bespoke support for individuals looking to volunteer and charities and not for profit groups in Dorset.

VCD is a dynamic organisation that has over 30 years of experience in all aspects of volunteering in Dorset, it is the voice of volunteering for Dorset, represents the sector at a strategic level, develops partnerships to ensure that volunteering remains a top rated activity for Dorset.

As well as delivering the core functions of a Volunteer Centre we currently deliver five projects that directly benefit people living in Dorset.

• The Green Team - practical help through volunteering to assist the elderly and disabled in their home. Volunteer led community allotments and supported gardening projects.
• Dorset Community Credit Scheme - a supported volunteering programme for adults with a learning disability.
• Dorset Community Response - providing emergency volunteer support for vulnerable people in Dorset, such as shopping, meal preparation, dog walking, prescription collecting. 
• Annual Volunteer awards event - celebrating the County's fantastic achievements through volunteering.
• Company at Christmas -  a variety of volunteer activities that help prevent loneliness on Christmas Day and the festive period, providing meals via a delivery service or hosting.
• Vaccination clinics - supporting Flu and Covid vaccination centres with volunteer marshals
• Home from Hospital - providing volunteer support for vulnerable people being discharged from hospital.

VCD supports the thousands of volunteer involving organisations in Dorset, promoting all the different volunteering opportunities every day, we are recognised as the experts on volunteering in Dorset and have a positive impact for individuals looking to volunteer, working with all groups of people whatever their needs. We are able to develop partnerships with the statutory, private and community sectors to ensure the best for people and for Dorset. We strive to ensure that Dorset continues to have a thriving voluntary and community sector.
