Objectives

We are an organisation that promotes and supports voluntary and community groups providing a voice for the voluntary sector across Arun and Chichester.

We are a membership organisation for voluntary and community organisations in Arun and Chichester. We have over 400 members and the numbers continue to grow. Our members give us regular feedback on the services we provide, which helps us tailor the support they need to develop their community work.

Our skilled board of trustees set the strategic direction and delegate operational responsibilities to an enthusiastic, experienced and hard-working staff and volunteer team.

Activities

Free 1:1 support on the following;

  • Start ups – finding the right organisational structure, writing a governing document, recruiting trustees, opening a bank account …
  • Policies (which ones you should have) and practice
  • Strategy planning and measuring impact
  • Advice on writing funding bids
  • Recruiting volunteers including Trustees – Contact Volunteer Now!
  • Health Checks – advice on development and check you have everything in place
  • Advice on websites and getting your message across
  • Access to FREE networking and training events

Services

We also offer the following services at a charge:

  • Training courses (although subsidised)

Consultancy services – we charge for pieces of work that are more involved than advising. Examples include:
- Facilitating strategy development days for Trustee Boards
- Writing funding bids
- Assisting boards with mergers
- Running bespoke training for organisations
