Our objectives

90% of sexual harassment on the London Underground goes unreported and 60% of women report feeling afraid on train platforms.

Visible Platform exists to close the gender data which exists between the number of incidents of sexual harassment experienced by women and the number of reported incidents. Our mission is to bring an end to sexual harassment on public transport, making women feel safer as they travel and experience public life.

At the moment, the onus is on individual women to avoid harassment. We take the burden off their shoulders and use women’s stories to fight for end to violence against women.

Our activities

We have created an accessible and efficient platform for reporting sexual harassment, straight from your phone or digital device. We are using the data we collect to draw attention to the issue and campaign for practical policy and legal changes. We hope to become a national index for statistics of unwanted sexual harassment on public transport, and provide decision makers, police and think tanks with valuable insights into the scope of the issue by collecting data which is not available anywhere else.

We also hope to bring closure to those who experience sexual harassment, by recognising every woman’s story - no matter what happened or when it happened. We provide women with a safe space to talk about their experience and signpost them to helpful resources.
