Objectives

UP – Unlocking Potential is a charity aiming to enhance the well-being and prospects of disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people in London. This is achieved by supporting the young people in variety of ways, in Primary schools across the capital and in our family centre in Kilburn.

Volunteers are an incredibly important part of our service, bringing energy and creativity into the lives of the children we support.

Activities

We are doing this through three pioneering programmes:

  • The SideBeSide schools programme is a unique, primary schools-based well-being service that offers comprehensive, high quality support to children, their parents/carers, and school staff in both one-to-one and group formats. We have a multi-disciplinary team to ensure flexible, timely and targeted interventions.
  • The Corner House - a family well-being centre based in North West London that provides holistic, integrated support for children and families, from social work support to psychotherapy. The children are aged between 4 and 11 years old.
  • The School of Confidence supports young people aged 16-24 who are at risk, to stabilise and enhance their well-being and to transition into successful, independent adulthood. This programme is devoted to young people who are not in Education, Employment or Training, or at risk of this.
