Stuart Low Trust
Our objectives
Stuart Low Trust's (SLT) is an award-winning charity, founded in 1999 by the family of Stuart Low, who tragically took his own life aged 27 years old. Our beneficiaries live in Islington and surrounding boroughs in North London, have a history of mental health issues, homelessness, poverty and are socially isolated.
We help by providing welcoming and safe community spaces, bringing people together in free social activities to expand their lives. We run three activity programmes: Arts, Nature and Wellbeing. We believe that we are unique as a local mental health charity by being:
- highly inclusive (open to anyone who needs us)
- accessible (including activities out of hours) and
- community-embedded to address the social stigma of mental health.
Feedback from participants is extremely positive, some saying SLT has been life-changing.
Our activities
Activities include a Friday Evening Events, a Philosophy Group, meditation sessions, art sessions, a Choir, creative writing group, drama group, nature outings and more.
