The Ruth Hayman Trust provides educational grants to those who have come to settle in the UK and whose first language is not English, mainly refugees.
We deal with some 400 individual applications a hear and make awards, by cheque to 120-150 beneficiaries. To do this we raise money through our own events, through events run by our supporters (including ESOL students), through personal donations and through grants from organisations. We have no paid staff.
