Objectives

At OXPIP we help parents and their babies build close and loving relationships from the start of life. For over 20 years, we have provided time limited, intensive therapeutic support to parents and their babies from conception to 2 years old as well as training for professionals. OXPIP also works with policy makers and the general public to build awareness, support and capacity for parent-infant attachment and infant mental health

Activities

Parents in Oxfordshire can contact us directly or are referred for a variety of reasons which may include post-natal depression, a baby that struggles to sleep or feed, anxieties about parenthood or a difficult birth experience. There may also be issues from the parent’s past, or from the transition to parenthood, which affect the relationship now that they are parents themselves. We may see clients 1:1, as a family or in a group, and use a range of interventions such as watch, wait and wonder, VIG and baby watching.

In addition to the clinical work, OXPIP provides consultation, workshops and training to a wide range of professionals on the importance of early attachment and infant mental health.

OXPIP also works with policy makers and the general public to build awareness, support and capacity for parent-infant attachment and infant mental health.
