Our objectives
We support local people with diabetes, both type 1 and type 2, working closely with local clinicians and the regional Diabetes UK team. Our objectives are to give people more information so that they are able to manage their condition better and to avoid complications arising from badly controlled blood glucose levels. We also offer emotional and social suppport and we promote awareness of the condition so that early diagnosis helps stave off complications.
Our activities
We run a programme of information eveniings where we invite speakers to talk about relevant subjects.
We run a programme of support mornings where we are available to talk to people on a one to one basis about issues they are facing.
We communicate regularly with people interested in diabetes via Mailchimp and Face Boo and our website, passing on interesting info / news from the diabetes commmunity.
We run campaigns to promote awareness of diabetes and give talks to local groups, or take stands at events.
