Groundwork is a community charity with a green heart. We work in partnership with organisations across the UK to help improve people’s prospects, and the places where they live. We believe connecting communities with their environment, working locally on big global issues, and including everyone within the community, make a huge difference to society.
Groundwork is a Federation, made up of individual Groundwork Trusts working on different programmes, from landscaping apprenticeships to food cooking classes, to greening people homes, and encouraging the next generation of green leaders.
We have been championing the voice of young people in our community work since the start, and we have seen the extent of challenges young people face now compared to generations before. We have also recently seen the transformative power young people can have upon society, when given the opportunity.
That’s why we’ve created Groundwork Youth - a national network of Young Green Ambassadors, who share our mission to create better, greener places, inclusive of everyone in the community. Together, we will galvanise 16-24s who want to lead and take part in campaigns nationally and locally, to protect local open spaces around the UK.
