Objectives

We are a member-owned, member-operated not-for-profit organisation who provide financial services to support anyone who lives, works or studies in Shropshire and Telford.

Our objectives are:

to promote thrift among our members through the accumulation of their savings.
to create sources of credit for the benefit of our members at fair and reasonable rates of interest.
to use and control our members' savings for their mutual benefit, and
to train and educate our members in the wise use of money and in the management of their financial affairs.

Activities

We meet our objectives through the provision of safe, regulated savings accounts and low-cost, flexible loans. We use the monies saved by our members to then make loans to all sectors of the community who are unable to access mainstream banking, as well as those with ethical financial principles. We work with community partners and the local authority to contribute towards the alleviation of poverty within the community, and its economic regeneration.
