EGFR Positive UK is a patient-led charity dedicated to supporting patients and families affected by EGFR mutation positive lung cancer. We provide information and support via our website and a closed Facebook group. We have two hundred and fifty members on our FB group from across the UK. We advocate for EGFR patients and ensure the patient's voice is heard in arenas where decision which will affect them are made. We are recognised for our work by leading partners in the lung cancer community.
EGFR Positive UK advocates for and supports patients. We are recognised patient experts and regularly take part in NICE and SMC drug and treatment appraisal. We are members of the United Kingdom Lung Cancer Coalition and sit on the Clinical Excellence Group for Lung Cancer. We have recently launched an early diagnosis campaign See Through the Symptoms in partnership with the Ruth Strauss Foundation and ALK Positive UK urging primary healthcare professionals to investigate symptoms of lung cancer regardless of smoking status or age. At the heart of what we do is support for patients and families via our website and Facebook group. Lung cancer is a devastating disease and EGFR mutation positive lung cancer affects more women than men, and many younger patients and never smokers.
