Objectives

The Edridge Fund is a direct grant giving charity, supporting staff who work in the Probation Services and Family Courts. The Fund was established in 1934 in memory of Sydney George Edridge OBE.

Our objective is to relieve financial distress and hardship amongst staff employed within Probation and Family Court services.

We are a benevolent fund supporting staff who face significant financial difficulties caused by illness, relationship breakdown and debt.

Activities

The Trustees make grants based on a simple application process. They have personal contact with all applicants if required and we aim to respond within a week to urgent requests for help.

Our impact can be measured by the responses we receive from beneficiaries who describe our help as 'life saving', many of whom then go on to fund raise themselves in order to help others. We are a benevolent fund supporting staff who face significant financial difficulties caused by illness, relationship breakdown and debt.
