We work to improve and protect Ealing Common, one of Ealing's oldest, most visible and appreciated green spaces. Everything we do is about ensuring that the Common remains a pleasant place to relax, play, walk the dog, exercise, picnic, take the children or just enjoy the sight of greenery in an urban setting.
We liaise with councillors, council officials and the park rangers to suggest ideas and lobby for initiatives to improve the Common and maintain it. We organise annual bulb plantings, have done litter clear-ups and are currently organising a mini orchard with some trees donated by members, some bought with grants from environmental organisations and some by the council. We’ve successfully campaigned for better lighting along and across the Common, for new and more litter bins, for better protection from damage caused by events, for plants and flowers to conceal the derelict public conveniences near the station.
