Our objectives
City of York Council is a public sector organisation however in order to support our most vulnerable young people/parents in the City we need volunteers both for statutory and non statutory roles.
By offering 1:1 support to young people or parents we can help prevent their situation escalating or provide support whilst provision is withdrawn.
City of York Council values the time volunteers offer and in return we support volunteers with training, dbs, ongoing supervision and additional training as required.
Our activities
Mentoring provided 1:1 support for vulnerable young people or parents allowing them time and space to talk to someone completely unbiased of their situation. We train all our volunteers, take up references and process an enhanced dbs free of charge, we then train all our volunteers and ensure they are supported in their role, in addition to this we cover all our of pocket expenses
