Objectives

"Christian Family Concern seeks to express the love of Christ in action. It provides services to help parents meet their children’s needs, to support the welfare of young people, and works with all sections of the community without discrimination."

At Christian Family Concern we are committed to supporting the family. We work with all sections of Croydon's multicultural community, reaching out to the more disadvantaged and those needing additional support. Our Christian ethos is at the heart of everything we do.

Christian Family Concern is a non-profit organisation, committed to supporting the family through:

  • Our supported housing work
  • Birdhurst Nursery
  • Counselling service

Activities

Wallis House and Beracah aim to provide safe, secure, comfortable supported accommodation where young first-time mothers can develop their confidence and skills in parenting and independent living.

We currently have two trained counsellors who see clients with a range of needs….addictions, anxiety, bereavement, depression, emotional and psychological issues, redundancy, fears and phobias, counselling for couples facing dilemmas with divorce/separation, etc.

We run a well-established 56-place nursery on our site in South Croydon, which offers a warm welcome to all families. The Nursery runs from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday 51 weeks a year, with closure over the Christmas period.

Time is given to each child to help them settle in, and their allocated ‘key person’ listens to parents and works with them to enable the growth and development of their child.

We follow the government's Early Years Foundation stage curriculum enabling every child to progress, and good relationships are established with the children and their parents to maintain a high standard of care and education.

Our Christian values underpin our outlook and the care given to every child or adult entering our doors.
