Our objectives
Catching Lives is an independent charity based in Canterbury, supporting people who are homeless or insecurely housed in Canterbury & East Kent. Our vision is of a society where everyone has a safe place to live and the opportunity to lead a fulfilling life. We deliver day centre services, providing essential facilities and individual support to improve housing, health and social connection.
Our activities
We support people at our Canterbury day centre, providing essential facilities including food, laundry, showers, bag storage and IT access. The team deliver individual practical and motivational support, tailored to the individual, For example, we help people to find and keep housing, access health services, and apply for benefits, work and volunteering. Our programme of arts and activities runs four afternoons a week focused on creativity, skills and social connection. The day centre also acts as a multi-agency hub, with drop-ins and appointments from external partners including Forward Trust, Rising Sun and the Council's rough sleeping team.
